I used to own Land Rover Discovery I, which was modified for "Romanian" terrain conditions. Now it is gone and I found out that off-road vehicles disappeared from the market. They have been substituted for stupid SUV vehicles. Commercial massage convinced people that they need to transport around children, surfboards, ski and bicycles and if they need to cross wet grass they need 4x4 drive... So what? I have 5-door Niva - Hard Cross edition equipped with air conditioning, heated seats, electrical windows...and reinforced bumper with a winch. Brutal wheels work and black discs suit well Niva brings attention and what is important - it works in any conditions.

We have already a second car. Now we own LADA URBAN in higher grade and its on-road performance is convenient. Lada Urban is also a very good helper in a forest.

I am happy with the car because I bought it lika a utillity car. I wanted vehicle which can get me to my cabin in mountains where only way to get there is on forest road which actually it looks like a dry bottom of stream. I also wanted a car which is not too smaal or too largeand without any of ''improvements'' like a electroassitants during drive down the hill, connecting 4x4 drive automatically, wheel slip assistant and oher. I think that similar car as Lada 4x4 is not even manufactured. I thought about buying some older used car but I know that Lada's are prone to corrosion, that's the reason why I bought new car. It is not car for long journeys or car which will impress girls but afordable worker.

I can now confirm that Lada Niva AMC HardCross was my best choice. I use my car in forest as among my hobbies is hunting. I can comfortably zigzag among trees - my colleagues with Navaras and Patrols cannot do this. The rear part of my car is equipped with rack for game animals, so I can comfortably deliver them to my home. Optimal travelling speed is around 80 km/h, I got used to it very quickly. It easily beats snow and mountain conditions where other off-road vehicles are without chances. I frequently use a winch - it several times smoothly lifted big wild swine from gorges and inaccessible terrains. I can recommend Niva and AMC to anyone who wants to buy a compact off-road vehicle from professionals.
